in Youth Events
As the Wisconsin chill sets in and we’re amping up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it can be easy for us to forget how the cold impacts those who are displaced from their homes. It’s striking how frequently Scripture reminds Christ followers to consider sharing life with others, especially those in need.
On November 23-24 LOC youth will identify with the poor by serving a meal at a Kenosha community center, studying poverty as it’s discussed in Scripture, and sleeping in boxes outdoors. The event will begin at 11:45 at First Steps Services and wrap up on the following day when youth will attend LOC worship. (The ShantyTown will actually be built in the Anderson’s back yard.) Pack your Bible, gloves, sleeping bags, and whatever else you can fit in a backpack and join us at Shanty Town!
Please contact Luke Campbell or Karen Cassiday with any questions.
