Outdoor Service, July 5th

Outdoor Service, July 5th

Light of Christ is pleased to announce two outdoor services for July 5, 2020, to be held at the Olsen home in Kenosha.

Since best practices continue to evolve and we have people at higher and lower risk within our congregation, we are providing 2 services: one for those at higher risk wishing or who wish to take more precautions and one for those at lower risk with less precautions. If you are at high risk or uncertain about attending either service, our 10:30 service will be available via Zoom.

9:00 AM service format & precautions:

The early service uses our current liturgy except that communion will be celebrated and distributed in person.

  • There will be no singing or other music.
  • Communion will be blessed using the sanitary practices instituted previously with reserve sacrament, including wearing gloves and a mask.
  • Communion will be distributed by the priest dropping the host (only) into the hand of the communicant; the communicant should wait until the priest has moved on to the next group before removing their mask to take communion.
  • This group size will not exceed 40 people.

Expectations for parishioners:

  • Masks are required,
  • Maintain at least 6’ between family groups,
  • RSVP so we can maintain proper social distancing.

10:30 AM service format & precautions:

The 10:30 am service will look like our current Zoom liturgy except that communion will be distributed in person.

  • There will be singing at this service.
  • Communion will be distributed by the priest dropping the host (only) into the hand of the communicant.
  • This group size will not exceed 40 people.

Expectations for parishioners:

  • Masks are encouraged, particularly while groups are being seated,
  • Maintain at least 6’ between family groups,
  • RSVP so we can maintain proper social distancing.
