Mission Statement: Reclaiming

Last week I shared our working draft of our Mission statement, and now we are working our way through the bullet items:

Our Mission— In Draft Form

We are dedicated to:

  • Revealing the Gospel of Christ
  • Reclaiming God’s Promises
  • Relating to God and each other
  • Rejoicing in the Holy Spirit

… in order to receive and minister Christ’s love, hope and healing as members of Light of Christ on mission in Southeast Wisconsin.

Today, I want to share what we mean by reclaiming:

Reclaiming

Light of Christ ministers to the Father’s returning children through reconciliation in baptism and the forgiveness of sins, and through the reclamation of His love and legacy for them in help and healing, and by discipling them to Jesus Christ in both knowledge and ascetic practice, and by encouraging them to fulfill His law of love.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.(Matt 28:19-20a, NLT)

As with prior posts, we want your feedback.

  • Does this resonate with you? Do you recognize LOC in this? Does this sound like us?
  • Is it meaningful? Do you understand what our purpose is at a high-level?

Please share with me your answers to these questions as we continue to discern and refine our vision.
